Joseph von Eichendorff published Das Marmorbild in 1819. The present text was downloaded from Gutenberg-DE and lightly edited to conform to modern spelling conventions. In the preparation of the glossary, the usual lexicons were consulted, along with Robert A. Fowkes's edition in The New York University Series of German Texts (Blaisdell Publishing, 1969).
